Kris & Kelly | Silverado, CA

This past weekend I got to hang out with Kris & Kelly and shoot their engagement pictures in the beautiful Silverado, CA.  We chose this amazing but remote spot without having ever been there, so meeting up there was kind of a risk, but well worth it.  Kelly knew she wanted something naturey and this was just the place for that.  And we really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day- down to the last second of honey warm sunset.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  Kris and Kelly are such a fun couple and we spent a lot of time laughing as you can see in many of their pictures!  I love when a couple can just enjoy the shoot, laugh, have fun, and let me capture it all on film.  They are getting married later this fall at the beautiful Adelaida Cellars.  I am so excited to be able to be a part of their beautiful day and I have a feeling it will be just as much fun as their engagement shoot was.  Kelly and Kris, I hope you enjoy your pictures!

Danielle & Neil | Robert Hall Winery

Danielle and Neil were married at the beautiful Robert Hall Winery and had some of the top vendors making this amazing wedding come together, and boy did it show!  Danielle looked gorgeous, the food was amazing, the flowers were perfect… and the groom was ready to get the show on. :)

Since first meeting Danielle and Neil it has just been plain fun getting to know them.  Danielle has a silly and serious side, but she can just make me laugh.  I think one of the best parts was watching how much she enjoyed her wedding.  It was so fun to watch her… the best way I can describe it was like a little girl in her fairytale, as delighted as can be.  She couldn’t have possibly squeezed one more drop of fun out of that moment if she tried!

I love the combo of Danielle and Neil because she is so goofy and fun and Neil is steady and grounded, their relationship balances them out perfectly.  I loved Neil but the deal was sealed when I saw the garter belt- a red, white and blue with the elephant attached.  I’ll just leave it at that.

Thanks to Danielle and Neil and a top notch set of vendors for an amazing day!

Lauren & Carl | Sogno de Fiore

September started off celebrating Lauren and Carl’s wedding in the beautiful Signo de Fiore Vineyard out in Los Olivos, CA.  Of the year I am pretty sure that Lauren won the award for the most calm and just go with the flow bride… it was a pleasure to shoot her wedding.  And it was so fun watching Carl!  The first time I met him he seemed so cool and collected, but on the day of the wedding it was a whole different side that I saw!  It was like the big kid side of him came out.  When he waiting for the first look the smile on his face was contagious.  Carl really is a great guy and Lauren likewise is just a great girl!

The wedding itself was beautiful.  Such bright colors and in incredible setting there at Signo de Fiore.  And one of my faves from the night was the make your own hamburger dinner, where you got to check off everything you wanted on your hamburger and they would make it for you.

Sam & Ceci | Golden Springs

I met Sam and Ceci because Ceci is the sister of friend and fellow photographer Claudia Thompson. Claudia is a bridesmaid in Ceci’s wedding so I get the honor of capturing Sam and Ceci’s day.

Ceci is this beautiful woman, in love with Jesus and one of those people who lights up a room. Engagement shoot days can feel nervewrecking at first, but even with all the nerves Ceci was so sweet and willing to try anything. Sam is the lucky guy who managed to catch this one…  Sam is a little quiter than Ceci but the pair together makes a great balance.

I’ll share a little example. This engagement shoot was probably the scariest engagement shoot I have ever done! Our original plan was to head up to Green Valley Lake to do a snow shoot but instead got caught in some of the thickest fog I have ever been in. Ceci and I were both so scared, my stomach was in so many knots I didn’t think it would ever relax. And although Sam was driving and should have been the most nervous he just calmly got us out of the situation, despite Ceci and I telling him every three seconds to be careful. (As if he didn’t already catch that.) We made it down safely and I was so grateful for his calm and stable personality that kept us less emotional during our near death experience.

Our shoot got cut short because of our little escapade and just caught a few minutes of sunlight at the end of the day but hopefully we will be sqeezing in another shoot in about a month so be looking forward to a part 2 coming soon!

Sam and Ceci, hope you enjoy!

Jillian & Ian | Windfall Farms

It seems like just the other day that I was shooting Jillian & Ian’s engagement pictures and now they are married!  Ian and Jillian got married at the beautiful Windfall Farms.  Windfall Farms is a beautiful equestrian property that houses, among other things, weddings!

Jillian was absolutely beautiful and it was so cute to see her excitement to marry her groom!  Ian, despite his stylish apparel, couldn’t hide the excited nervousness.  The best way to describe Ian is just calm and cool, so I was stoked to see him get all nervous for his bride to be.  After the ceremony was over it was all about family and friends!  Ian and Jillian did such a great job taking the time to connect with all their guests at the wedding… I was able though, with the help of a certain Kramer DJ and Cass Winery Coordinator (thanks you guys!), to steal them away for a few sunset photos.  So with that said, I hope you guys enjoy the pictures!!

Again I had the honor of having the beautiful Chloe Murdoch shoot with me!  Thanks Chlo for the help!

Nate & Chrissy | San Luis Obispo, CA

When you go away to college it is easy to fill far away from family.  Thankfully for me although of course I missed my family I was surrounded by amazing people through my church that quickly became like family.  The Barnes family was one of my favorite home aways from home.  Nate’s dad and mom I even call Papa Barnes and Mama Barnes.  When I was in college Nate seemed like still just a kid.  He was in high school at the time.  And now he is getting married! :) Nate’s family has long been behind my camera, in fact I did both his and his sister’s senior portraits, family pictures, his brother’s engagement pictures, and assisted at their wedding.  Needless to say they are used to seeing me with a camera in my hand.

When Matt, Nate’s brother got married to Kayla I remember thinking “Man Kayla was such a great addition to this amazing family, how could Nate’s other half ever live up to that?”  But those thoughts were long before Chrissy was ever in the picture.  I could never have imagined another perfect addition like Chrissy.  She fits just perfectly in the Barnes family.  Even down to appreciating the infamous Barnes Boy Humour.  The Barnes Boys and the women that love them…. they are all priceless.  I wish that in some way I could give you a picture through my words of what this family is like, but it would never suffice.  Suffice to say that if the saying is true that when you marry a man you marry his family as well then I would say Chrissy got a pretty good deal.

I have to say I had so much fun at this shoot.  I was laughing so hard so many different times that I was literally rolled over in laughter.  Nate and Chrissy’s ability to roll with the day, outrageous wind, awkward poses that didn’t work out quite as we had envision, and still laugh at everything was nothing less then awesome!  It felt more like friends hanging out then a photo shoot!  Chrissy’s easy going nature is going to be just the right fit for Nate and as his unofficial older sister I would say I definitely not only approve of this amazing choice for a wife, but am so grateful to the Lord that he brought her into Nate’s life.

Enjoy the pictures you guys!

Paul & Melissa | Limoneira Ranch

Paul and Melissa were married in the Limoneira Ranch, sister venue to Windfall Farms that I shot at just a little over two months ago.  The venue was beautiful and all the amazing details that Melissa put into the wedding were absolutely amazing.  Paul and Melissa are both so kick back.  I remember feeling that way during their engagement shoot as well.  Even the day of the wedding Melissa was so calm, you would never have known that she had been planning for this day for months and months.  Her and Paul are so cute together… they are just right.  I think what I love most is how they seem to complement each other and appreciate who the other person is.

It is getting late so it is off to bed for me but I hope that you enjoy the pictures!

Jael & Edgar | Quinta Casa Blanca | Ensenada, Mexico

This was a very special wedding for many reasons!  First because it was an honor to shoot my good friend Jael’s wedding.  How this all came about is such a fun story.  Jael is an amazing graphic designer but when I first met her she was working a little side job at a printing shop in Ensenada.  My husband and I were living in Ensenada at the time so I used to go there to print.  When I started to return to the wedding scene I went there to print out some business cards and Jael was my favorite printer lady! :)  A few months after printing my cards she called me to shoot not only her wedding, but one of her closest friends as well.  Who would have thought?  Over their more than a year engagement Jael and I have become close friends and well as business companions.  It was only appropriate that her getting ready pictures were done in her invitation boutique as well as that all of stationary throughout the wedding was done by Jael herself.  The wedding was set at a beautiful quinta in the hills of Ensenada’s famous wine route and was absolutely beautiful.

One of my favorite parts of shooting a wedding is the friendships that come with it.  Just last weekend Jael and her hubby Edgar spent the weekend with George and I and they really are just such an awesome couple that we love very much!  Her wedding had both a church service as well as a civil ceremony, which is traditional in Mexico.  And then what can I say about the reception except that if there was one thing they had, it was a lot of fun!

I hope you enjoy the pictures!
