The Shore Family | Marian Bear Park

The Shore family is one of the families I most look forward to taking pictures of each year. Not only because they are clearly so photogenic, but also because they are one of the most laid back, easy couples to work with. No matter what the situation is, they are game. And even though they moved a few years ago now, they still drive back each year for our pictures.

Liz and Trent, I hope you love the pictures!

The Street Family | Lake Jennings

The rain held off just long enough for us to sneak in the Street family portraits this year at the beautiful Lake Jennings. I have shot here so many times and still love it. If you haven’t take the family out to Lake Jennings you definitely should- they have fishing, kayaking, rowboats, and even teepees that you can camp in. It was so great to get to see Ashley again- I started off my teaching career working with Ashley and we quickly became friends. I have been able to photograph their family through all the years and although life has taken us to different schools now, I am so appreciative to still have Ashely in my life.

Baby Charlotte is Here! | San Diego Newborn Photography

Baby Charlotte made her entrance! Madison is officially a big sister! It seems like just yesterday that I was in this same house taking Madison’s newborn pictures and now they are a family of 4. Charlotte did great, especially since she was a little bigger than we normally do newborn pictures at since our photoshoot was postponed due to a sick big sister. But Charlotte still chose moments to sleep and let us get some of those sweet newborn pictures.

Letisha and Chase, I am excited for you to be able to add some of these images to your wall. I hope you love them!

Ketchell Maternity Shoot Part 1 | Marian Bear Park

My baby cousin is having a baby! I can’t believe it but our youngest cousin is having a baby. This ended up turning into a little bit of a family reunion since my mom and her two sisters were all there as well. The day was gorgeous outside, even though it was admittedly a bit warm. We started off at Marian Bear Park, one of my favorites, and then headed to La Jolla Cove after that. Even though they had to drive back the same day, it was so fun to get to see them and capture these memories.

We are ready for you Baby Ketchell! Can’t wait to meet her!

Kingsbury Family Maternity Shoot | Lake Jennings

Baby # 2 is on the way! I love love love taking pictures of a family in all the different seasons. And this season marks the wait for Madi’s big sister.

We made our way out to Lake Jennings, one of all my all time favorite spots in San Diego. Its an easy spot that requires pretty minimal walking, which is pretty ideal when you have a toddler and a pregnant mommy. The pictures were sweet and perfectly represent this sweet family. I hope you love them Chase, Letisha and Madi and baby!

Andrea University Senior Portraits | Cal State University San Marcos

A handful of years ago I was taking pictures Andrea’s quinceanera pictures and now here we are, taking pictures of her graduating from Cal State University San Marcos. Crazy how quick time flies. I had actually never been to CSUSM, despite the fact that it is is here in San Diego County, but I loved how intimate it felt. I am pretty sure that during our shoot we walked the whole campus. The evening was beautiful and Andrea even more so. Andrea, I hope you love the pictures! Best wishes to the next season of your life!

The Shore Family | Lake Hodges

My favorite shoots are the families that I have photographed through all the seasons. The Shore Family is just that. My first pictures of them were long before there were babies in the picture, and then when Penny was in the belly, and then when she was born, and again and again. Sadly, they moved a ways away and so I wasn’t able to photograph little Lula’s newborn pictures but we made it work for their Christmas picture. They drove down, I drove up, and these pictures were taken! Liz and Trent are the best- as authentic as two people could possibly be. So easy to photograph, flexible and up for anything. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t super bummed when they moved up North. But I am grateful that it worked out for us to take these pictures.

Liz, I hope you love the images and the memories! Can’t wait for the next time!

The Friedeck Family Portrait Session | Felicita Park, Escondido

This is the third family portrait session that I have done for the Friedeck Family and it has been so much fun to watch their little family grow! We have had kids at the same time, even with similar names haha- Milo and Mila. :) And we have shot all the way from Old Town, up to Sunset Beach and now all the way up to Felicita Park in Escondido. When I am photographing Tammy I feel like I am with an old friend, more fun than work.

Felicita Park was amazing! I feel like I could shoot here over and over again and still find a million new places to shoot. I will definitely be coming back to this location again!

Tammy I hope you love the pics!

Christy and Crawford's Baby Shower!

One of my fellow teachers asked me to capture the moments of her daughter’s first baby shower. I was so honored to be able to be a part of Christy’s special day! Christy was glowing and if she is anything like her mom, she will be an amazing mom.

I have to brag for a second about her mom, Alex, because Alex will never brag about herself. Alex is an incredible person, teacher and mom! She is the definition of passion and so filled with love. As a teacher, she pours everything into what she does and cares deep to her core. She cares about her students, cares about her teaching and cares about all of those that are around her. She will bend over backwards and be the first to meet a need. She wears herself thin, but still always has a smile on her face. Put simply, she is special. So it is clear that Baby will have a very special grandma!

Christy, thanks for trusting me to capture your day! I hope that you felt so special surrounded by so many people that love you. You are gorgeous and glowing! This is the beginning of the best part of life. I pray for so many blessings for you and your family. :)

And lastly, can we just take a moment for the churros… never in my life… I still feel guilty for eating those but let me tell you, best guilty pleasure in my life so far!

Nancy Sandoval | La Jolla Coves

Nancy and I have worked together as teachers for a few years now! She is such a dedicated, talented, sweet and humble person that throughout the years I have come to appreciate so much as a colleague and friend. Carlos and Nancy have been on a journey to have their first child and so the news of Rosabella was one that we have all celebrated with them. They are going to be such amazing parents and I can only imagine how loved Rosabella is going to be!

For Nancy’s maternity pictures we headed out to the beautiful La Jolla Coves. From the pictures you would never guess how packed it was there (as always). But the gorgeous rocks, crashing waves and rock formed caves are worth embracing the crowd.

Nancy, I hope you love your images and I am so happy that I got to be a part of capturing these moments for you!

Kaitlin Smith | Steele Canyon Bridge

This past weekend I photographed a special senior portrait session, the daughter of a fellow teacher and team member. I remember when Kaitlin and her friends use to come to our classrooms to complete their volunteer hours for high school and now her journey has come to an end and she will be graduating next week. So crazy!

We headed out to Steele Canyon Bridge, which I love as long as it is mid-week, aka not as many photographers out there. San Diego was showing off with it’s gorgeous weather like always!

Beau Turns One!

Jen, what a special day this was to be able to photograph your last baby turn one! How does life go so fast? It feels like just yesterday that we were pregnant with our first babies. This strange reality that our babies will now only grow from here is still so hard to believe. I have treasured our friendship. You were the first to make me believe that true deep friendships could form at work. I have treasured our friendship and am so grateful that somehow my first year at Nicoloff we found our way together. I don’t even remember now how haha. But here we are now, 5 babies later and with a friendship that has continued to grow. Can’t wait to see what lies ahead!

Enjoy the pics friend!

The Garcia Family | Discovery Lake Park

Josh and Brittany have been friends since college and I treasure their friendship. As the years go by friendships can sometimes fade as distance and time come into play. This makes you cherish even more those friendships that have stood the tests. I have been photographing Josh and Brittany long before babies were ever in the picture and throughout all the years since. Our babies have come around the same time making the friendship even more special.

Brittany and Josh, I am so grateful for you guys and I hope you love the pictures!

Vicenta Turns 90 | Private Estate

What an honor it was to photograph this family in honor of Vicenta’s 90th birthday. This family was full of love and you could tell that Vicenta was a blessed woman. I love being able to take part in capturing such precious memories. Linette reached out to me with a lot of questions- she was doing her research! I gave her lots of details about what it is like for me to photograph an event for you. What I said was- I create the whole process from beginning to end to be what I would want in a photographer. That part is very important to me. Linette has the sweetest heart and just has a special light inside of her. It was a joy to work with her!

But this photoshoot got even better. After emailing back and forth with Linette we came to realize that I had photographed her brother’s wedding! It was so special to photograph Steph and Andy again! It felt so incredibly natural. This time their family had expanded to include a little fur child- Louis with his one blue eye and one brown.

To Vicenta and family- I hope that you love these pictures!

The Street Family | Marian Bear Park

I have been taking pictures of Ashley’s family since Kelsie was just a baby. Ashley and I worked together at the same elementary school and have had our babies at the same time two times in a row. In fact, our mom tribe formed naturally as 4 of us teachers became moms all around the same time. Since that time, our tribe has moved to different parts, gotten new jobs, and added more babies. I miss being able to see each other down the hall at work, but so blessed to call Ashley and the rest of our tribe friends.

Ashley, I hope you enjoy the pictures!

The Garcia Family | UCSD Eucalyptus Trees Family Portrait Shoot

This cute little family were such troopers during this shoot. It had rained all night and started raining again right after our shoot. But it was almost too good to be true that the clouds parted and the sun came out right when we arrived. We had great light! UCSD has this amazing Eucalyptus grove that creates this soft light that I love. The soft greens of the trees are just perfect.

Danielle and Simon, I hope you love your pictures!

My Babies | Rosarito, Mexico

I am trying my hardest to be intentional about taking my girls out for pictures more often, because I know that this time is going to pass by so fast and I will regret every moment that I missed taking pictures of. Already my girls have grown so fast during this quarantine. Luckily, we decided to make a day of it and drive down to Rosarito and take some pictures of the girls. This spot was just less than half a mile away from where George and I got married. I feel like I could come to this place over and over again and it will always give me that special feeling. Also, I could just eat them both up- my beautiful babies!
